Housing Recovery Resource Center Counselors

Description
The Affordable Housing Alliance (AHA) is seeking three housing counselors. Under the direction of the Housing Counseling Director, the Housing Recovery Counselor will be responsible for the following: • Schedule and staff specialized workshops on skills required to rebuild and relocate. • Perform Intake and assessment of disaster client needs during telephone and or direct contact to our agency. • Provide one on one counseling to disaster clients in Foreclosure/Purchase/Rental to help them find realistic work out, options to either avoid Foreclosure/Purchase/Rental or transition into other housing situations that best meet their needs. • Increase awareness of AHA as a convenient local resource by establishing a presence in some of the hardest hit areas. • Establish a permancy housing plan; 1. Rebuild-Relocate-Rehabilitate 2. Create manageable steps to achieving the plan agreed upon. 3. Coordinate financial and technical expertise and resources necessary to achieving steps. • Refer disaster clients to appropriate community and/or social services agencies, based on their needs. • Keep client tracking tool updated on a regular basis of all disaster clients served and provide monthly reports • Provide regular follow up with disaster clients • Present at various workshops and training sessions provided by the agency • Design and administer HomeShare program for emergency/disaster victims who need permanent housing situations. • Participate in planning of long term recovery efforts. • Create a database of legal and contractual documents necessary to achieving permancy goals. • Other duties as assigned and necessary for the administrative functioning of the housing counseling department.
Requirement
Qualifications: • Ability to speak English while responding to clients in needs and sometimes in crisis; • Bachelor’s degree in a Social Service, Business or Finance plus 2 year experience in any of these three fields. • Strong Computer skills. • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, ability to multitask. • Certification as a Housing Counselor within 1 year of employment. • All employees are required to submit to drug, criminal, driving and personal reference checks as appropriate to their position. Part Time Accounting Assistant

Description
Under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Part time Accounting Assistant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: • Provide support to the CFO and Corporate Accountant • Help Process Rents • Help with daily bank deposits when needed • Prepare accounts receivable reports • Computer input and maintenance of financial transactions • Other duties as assigned and necessary to monitor and maintain the agency’s financial health and well-being.
Requirement
• Bachelors degree in accounting/finance • Five (5) years plus computerized accounting/bookkeeper experience • Excellent computer skills: Ms Word, Excel • Quickbooks accounting program • Detailed oriented • Ability to prioritize • Ability to work with minimum supervision • All employees are required to submit to criminal, driving, drug and personal references.

Description
Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, painting, sheet rock, etc. Salary range $11.00 to $14.00 per hour plus benefits, depending on skills.
Requirement
Must be willing to travel to other locations as needed. Must be willing to work on call, after hours and weekends. Must be physically able to climb, lift, bend, shovel snow and work in weather extremes. Must have knowledge and ability to operate tools and equipment. Must possess good customer service skills. Must have dependable transportation. All applicants ,must pass drug testing, criminal screening and possess a good driving record.
