About Us

In response to the overwhelming need for quality, affordable housing in Monmouth County, the Monmouth Housing Alliance was formed in April, 1991 with a start-up grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. 

The idea sprang from a group of interested colleagues who were struggling to find housing for individuals with disabilities, low wage workers, single parents and other disenfranchised groups. 

The founding director Donna Blaze, now CEO worked on a part-time basis and played all rolls including developer and painter until more substantial funding could be secured.  Read More

Sandy Housing Recovery and Resource Center & Mobile Office Now Open.

The Alliance is pleased to announce a NEW housing counseling resource for Monmouth and Ocean County residents impacted by Sandy. The HRRC staff are available to work with renters and homeowners to find viable and permanent housing solutions..

Sandy Activities

The Affordable Housing Alliance observed National NeighborWorks Week with a clean up day in post-Sandy Union Beach. Read the article from the June 6, 2013 Asbury Park Press and watch the video to see what a difference AHA staff and volunteers were able to make in a day.
